The need for people who can work with data was clear in 2017 and has not gone away. If you are a student or a working professional thinking about a career in data, start with the basics of data analysis and a programming language, and build up from there. If you run a business, the first step is to know what data you already collect, such as sales, enquiries and website visits, and to use it to make decisions.
